Metadata mapping

This is how the fields of an ERN message become a release on the site. Field names are ERN 4.3; the ERN 3.8 equivalents are read too. Download the sample message to see them in place.

Message header

ERN field	On the site
MessageId	Kept with the delivery and shown in the API and acknowledgement.
MessageSender/PartyId	Must match the DPID on your account, or the message cannot change a live release.
MessageRecipient/PartyId	Must be our DPID when we have given you one.
MessageCreatedDateTime	Orders messages: an older one never undoes a newer one.
MessageControlType	TestMessage never changes a live release.

Release

ERN field	On the site
ReleaseId/ICPN	The UPC or EAN. The key for updates and takedowns, and for GET /releases/{upc}. Send one.
ReleaseType	Single, EP or album (from the type and the number of tracks).
DisplayTitleText, DisplayTitle/SubTitle	The title, and its version (for example "Extended Mix").
DisplayArtist with DisplayArtistRole	The AI artists, in SequenceNumber order. MainArtist, FeaturedArtist and Remixer are kept apart. Each gets an artist page.
ReleaseLabelReference	The label. Labels can be linked to a creator account on the site.
Genre/GenreText, SubGenre	Matched to the site's genres by name. Genres we do not have are mapped once by our team and remembered.
ReleaseDate	The day it goes live, at the earliest.
PLine, CLine	Shown on the release page.
ParentalWarningType	Explicit marks it explicit.

Tracks

ERN field	On the site
SoundRecording in the release's ResourceGroup	The tracks, in SequenceNumber order, with discs from nested groups.
ResourceId/ISRC	The ISRC. Lets an update leave out audio we already have.
DisplayTitleText, DisplayArtist	The track title, version and artists (the release artists when left out).
Duration	The length (we also measure the audio).
TechnicalDetails/DeliveryFile/File/URI	The audio file, relative to the message. With HashSum MD5 the file is checked.
Stereo and immersive editions	We stream the stereo edition.

Deals

ERN field	On the site
UseType OnDemandStream	Needed: it is the permission to stream. Stream and NonInteractiveStream are read the same way.
CommercialModelType	SubscriptionModel (Premium) and/or AdvertisementSupportedModel (free, with ads). Both are paid.
TerritoryCode	Worldwide. A deal for some countries only is checked by hand before it goes live.
ValidityPeriod/StartDate, EndDate	When it may go live, and when it is taken down on its own.
TakeDown	Takes the release (or one track, on a track release deal) off the site.

The AI tool

Every release on the site names the AI tool it was made with. ERN has no field for it, so it is set on your account (for example Suno or Udio) and our team can change it for one release. Tell us if your catalogue uses more than one tool.
